Frequently Asked Questions
Can a pool be built in any backyard?
In most cases yes, however, there are typically county and city building code and zoning requirements. Flood plains and utility line easements can prevent pool construction.
How are Aabstract pools different from others?
We pay close attention to detail and maintain a high level of communication in the design and informational process, all the way up to the point when your family is enjoying your pool. We also respond rapidly to any request and maintain this commitment as long as you own the pool.
How long does it take to build a pool?
It can take weeks to months depending upon site conditions, the complexity of the project, weather conditions and more. After creating a design projections can be provided for the overall process.
Where do I start to get ideas for a pool design?
Take time to look through the projects within the Gallery on our website. The internet provides many resources for pool construction and design. Book stores have books and magazines with design ideas. We can also help by bringing in a design architect to create your backyard experience.
Who purchases the building permit for an inground pool?
As a licensed SC contractor (Permit#G-15611) we are able to produce a project with a value of up to $350,000.00. In most situations in order to purchase a building permit the builder most be a licensed contractor. It is unlawful for the contracted builder to use another contractors license in order to purchase the permit.
We also verify that the design of your pool follows the guidelines established by zoning and meets the cosmetic requirements for home owners associations, historical areas and city municipalities. We act as the liaison to provide the necessary information needed to obtain these permits or approvals.
Is there a cost for a site visit?
No,an Aabstract representative will meet with you to discuss your options and design considerations. We will continue to meet with you until we have accomplished your required goals. Then we can move forward with providing a detailed proposal.
Do you damage the yard in the process?
Yes! As the saying goes, "To make a cake you have to break a few eggs". Unfortunately, building a pool in your backyard requires equipment to be brought on site, dirt to be removed, and raw materials used in the construction phase to be staged, so that they are available for when they are needed. Our experience, however, helps us to limit the damage as much as possible. As you can tell by looking at our portfolio, the end result is worth the inconvenience! At the site inspection, we will be able to assess the requirements for your pool building project, and discuss any of these concerns with you so that there are no surprises.
